“Everything that can be imagined is real”
Pablo Picasso
I believe in this sentence.
When I read a script I begin to build a world in my head, sometimes I erase some parts, sometimes I don’t. Each word I read, each conversation or request stays with me and builds that imaginary world, an idea that will materialise or become concrete. It is not the snap of Mary Poppins, it is a process that is enjoyed and carefully managed. A world in which the image will mantain a dialogue with whoever observes it, and will transmit many emotions, accompanying the narration. The whole of it creates an unforgettable experience.
There are two things that give me absolut pleasure about my work. Making a director’s dream come true by materialising his idea and watching an actor feel he absolutely belongs in that set. Performance and environment go hand in hand. That’s when I feel that it becomes real, and I choose this profession again and again.
The Art Direction.
